Pesto Recipe



Basic Pesto Recipe


  • 1/3 cup Pine Nuts (or Substitute, Walnuts, Pecans, Almonds or Pistachios)
  • 2 cloves of garlic large, roughly chopped
  • 2 cup Basil leaves fresh , lightly packed
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2/3 cup olive oil Extra virgin
  • 1/2 cup Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese (not parmesan) grated


  • In a food processor, chop nuts and garlic.
  • Add Basil, salt & pepper until finely chopped.
  • With the food processor running, slowly add the olive oil.
  • Then add the Parmigiano cheese until smooth.
  • Add to your pasta and enjoy!


Store in an airtight container with a thin layer of olive oil on top to prevent browning.
Will keep in the fridge for about a week or freeze for up to 6 months.
